Austin Kids Recommended – August 17-23

Growing Up Austin - Austin Kids Recommended!

Welcome to Austin’s Tiniest Kids’ calendar with just a few carefully selected activities during the coming week, usually hiking, music or art-related. This week it’s a couple of ideas for staying cool in the August heat. Enjoy!

Lick-ety Split Ice Cream Social
A Benefit for Safe Place
Saturday, August 18, 1-4pm
Trace at the W Hotel
200 Lavaca Street
Ice cream tastes best when it is hot outside so bring the kids to try out TRACE summer ice cream flavors like Peach Cobbler Ice Cream, Cheerios Berry Swirl, Dark Chocolate & Strawberry Meringue Pudding Pops! Yum! Bring a school supply donation for Safeplace’s back to school drive.

Flying Theater Machine Presents: Fairly Silly Fairy Tales
Sunday, August 19, 2pm (next Sunday also, August 26)
The Hideout Theater
617 Congress Ave
Get out of the heat and into the AC for story telling with a twist of improv. The show is especially made for kids four to ten, but is just as funny for the Moms and Dads.
