Welcome to Austin’s Tiniest Kids’ calendar with just a few carefully selected activities during the coming week, usually hiking, music or art-related.
Microsoft Store Fun Friday, ages 2-5
The Microsoft Store in The Domain is older-feeling and less good-looking than the Apple Store in the Domain, in that subjective sense that counts for a lot. But I live in both worlds, PC-by-day and Mac-by-night and one reason to like the PC is because The Microsoft Store has a free, technology-related craft project and learning activity every Friday for kids 2-5 years old.
Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience by the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Austin
Sunday, June 10th, 2:00pm (see web site for additional show times, this showing includes children’s activities)
“Patience” is a family-friendly comedy and musical full of wit, charm, poetry and a complicated love triangle. If that isn’t enough, this matinee showing has children’s activities at 2:00pm, the play starts at 3:00pm.
The Boogers at Ruta Maya Coffee
Tuesday, June 12th, noon, $5 cover
I’m not usually into kids’ music, I think kids can enjoy regular music just fine, but the Boogers are described as “the anti-Barney, the Wiggles’ worst nightmare, the world’s most dangerous kids band,” and that makes me curious. Check out their music here to see if it might work for you and your kids. Many thanks to Alicia for the tip.
