A Lithuanian Story

Growing Up Austin - A Lithuanian Story All the Way From TexasWelcome to a special series on GrowingUpAustin.com, A Lithuanian Story – All the Way From Texas. This might not make any sense at all – a series of posts about Lithuania on a regional blog about Austin, Texas – but I figure everything doesn’t need to make sense all the time.

I went to Lithuania in June/July to teach storytelling at A.P.P.L.E., an education conference that I first taught at almost twenty years ago. The latest conference was challenging and rewarding. I’m pretty sure I learned more than I taught, overall.  The first conference gave me stories I have been telling ever since. So, I decided to write about the trips here. I’ll return to writing about hiking, live music and art for Austin kids when I get back in July. Information is always available at AustinKidsHike.com (hiking), AustinKidsDance.com (live music) and AustinKidsDraw.com (art).

My posts were limited during this summer’s trip. It’s sometimes hard to fully pay attention to what is going on and write about it at the same time. Here they are…
